Is it ok to have more than one job agency?

I had posted my resume on a couple of job websites and I have had many call from job agency / job recruitment / job placement centers.
Should I stick to one or make appointments with all?
And should I inform about each other?

Gross Receipts Tax on Out of State Services in NM?

Can i use a recruitment agency to market me in the job market?

I’m new to the job market in the US.
I work in the IT field and i was wondering if there any kind of employment or recruitment agencies that will do the opposite of what usually happens, Instead of finding candidates based on employer’s openings, they would try to market me and find me job opportunities based on my experience and skill set.

Is this available in the US job market ? if yes can you give me a few names to start with ?

How to find clients for recruitment agency in IT and Engineering?

Hi!

I would like to set-up a home based recruitment agency in the UK. How do I find clients though? Is it a case of looking up IT companies and cold calling to find out if they need employees? Then after that do we draft up a contract?

All advice is appreciated!

Best answer will be chosen :)

Recently laid off. Should I sign this?

I was laid off today. A business deal at the company didn’t go through, and they had to shrink the workforce. The newest guys went first, and I was a new guy.

I left on good terms (the owner offered to write a letter of recommendation).

The company offered continuation of medical and dental coverage for 2 1/2 months, 90 days outplacement services, and rehire rights for 12 months.

In return, they want me to sign a document stating that I will waive all claims about unemployment.

I think I should sign. Should I?
The exact wording is "in return for your agreement to waive claims about your employment against (companyname)". Would that prevent me from getting any unemployment if needed?

Why is this recruitment agency helping me find a job?

I applied for a job that was advertised through a recruitment agency. I was considered and thus went to an interview at their premises. Since then the recruitment agency has been sending me a number of company names telling me to write applications, and they’ll send it on my behalf. What i don’t understand is, why? why are they doing this? Are they expecting money of me for this?

What to do if your recruitment agency does not pay on time?

Hiya. I live in Australia. Recently I left my job and while waiting for my new position to commence, took on a bit of temporary work with an agency. Their odd pay dates & ranges system aside, I have yet to be paid for any work done, and payment is past due.

Is there a regulatory body or watchdog in Australia I can consult that deals specifically with recruitment agencies? The Workplace Authority site is little help.

Should this be allowed to happen?

Outsourcing the Presidency

Congress today announced that the office of President of the United
States of America will be outsourced to India as of September 22, 2006.
The move is being made to save the President’s 0,000 yearly
salary, and also a record 1 billion in deficit expenditures and
related overhead the office has incurred during the last 5years.

"We believe this is a wise move financially. The cost savings should
be significant," stated Congressman Thomas Reynolds(R-WA). Reynolds,
with the aid of the Government Accounting Office, has studied
outsourcing of American jobs extensively. "We cannot expect to
remain
competitive on the world stage with the current level of cash
outlay," Reynolds noted.

Mr. Bush was informed by email this morning of his termination.
Preparations for the job move have been underway for sometime.
Gurvinder Singh of Indus Teleservices, Mumbai, India, will be
assuming the office of President as of 22 September 2006 . Mr. Singh was
born in the United States while his Indian parents were vacationing
at Niagara Falls, thus making him eligible for the position. He will
receive a salary of 0 (USD) a month but with no health coverage
or other benefits.

It is believed that Mr. Singh will be able to handle his job
responsibilities without a support staff. Due to the time difference
between the US and India, he will be working primarily at night, when
few offices of the US Government will be open. "Working nights will
allow me to keep my day job at the American Express call center,"
stated Mr. Singh in an exclusive interview. "I am excited about this
position. I always hoped I would be President someday."

A Congressional spokesperson noted that while Mr. Singh may not be
fully aware of all the issues involved in the office of President,
this should not be a problem because Bush was not familiar with the
issues either. Mr. Singh will rely upon a script tree that will
enable him to respond effectively to most topics of concern. Using
the scanned responses, he can address common concerns without having
to understand the underlying issues at all.

"We know these scripting tools work," stated the spokesperson.
"President Bush has used them successfully for years." Mr. Singh may
have problems with the Texas drawl, but lately Bush has abandoned the
"down home" persona in his effort to appear intelligent and on top
of the Katrina situation.

Bush will receive health coverage, expenses, and salary until his
final day of employment. Following a two week waiting period, he will
be eligible for 0 a week unemployment compensation for 13 weeks.
Unfortunately he will not be eligible for Medicaid, as his
unemployment benefits will exceed the allowed limit. Mr. Bush has
been provided the outplacement services of Manpower, Inc. to help
him write a résumé and prepare for his upcoming job transition.
According to Manpower, Mr. Bush may have difficulties in securing a new
position due to limited practical work experience.

A Greeter position at Wal-Mart was suggested due to Bush’s extensive
experience shaking hands and his phony smile. Another possibility is
Bush’s re-enlistment in the Texas Air National Guard. His prior
records are conspicuously vague but should he choose this option, he
would likely be stationed in Waco, TX for a month, before being sent
to Iraq, a country he has visited.

"I’ve been there, I know all about Iraq," stated Mr. Bush, who
gained invaluable knowledge of the country in a visit to the Baghdad
Airport’s terminal and gift shop.

Sources in Baghdad and Falluja say Mr. Bush would receive a warm
reception from local Iraqis. They have asked to be provided with
details of his arrival so that they might arrange an appropriate
welcome.

How to cut down on sales lead appointment cancellations?

My company sets appointments for financial planners. We also offer outplacement services and job placement services for people looking for new jobz. The recruiting services we offer are free and the going rate for the services we provide are anywhere from 2k to 8k. In order to offer free job placement services and free services of a recruiter with 30yrs experience we require that all our clients first meet with a financial planner to make a recommendation on their existing plans. If they agree to that and complete the appointment we help them extensively on their job search. We have had a cancellation rate exceeding 40%. Any ideas on how we can slow/stop cancellations.
The market we are targeting are unemployed people who are 20 years or less from retirement age. In addition, to qualify for our program they must have more than 50k in retirement assets. The idea is to sell them an annuity.

What are the advantages or disadvantages of job haunting through recruitment agency?

I’m new to the US and currently looking for an accounting job right now. I’m wondering if which is better – direct hiring or palcement agencies? Anybody can give me an idea please. Thank you and happy new year…
